First Hike of the Year

Here we are getting ready to leave.

Our family is pretty excited to have warm weather, to be able to get outside and not be stuck inside anymore.  We decided to go hiking with Jason's parents to Ensign Peak.  It ended up being a little bit harder hike than I had anticipated.  It wasn't long, but it was pretty steep.  Me and Brock were glad to be able to join the family this year hiking.  Last year I was pregnant, which meant it wasn't the best idea.

Kate and Halle were the ones I was worried about before the hike.  They tend to get tired when we just walk around our neighborhood.  But they did great.  Karli was the one that complained, and ended up getting carried on grandma's back for awhile.

The view of the city was awesome!

9 Months

I cannot believe that this little guy is already 9 months old!  He is always happy and smiling.  He is scooting everywhere, which he thinks is awesome.  He loves this new freedom!  He is trying really hard to crawl, but it's just faster to scoot.   He loves to hold onto fingers and stand up, in fact, if he is grumpy, this will quiet him almost instantly.

Sping Dance Recital

We had 3 little dancers in the Spring Recital.  We were a little bit nervous that we would have no dancers at the recital due to a sick bug running around our house, however, thanks to some prayers, we had all 3 dancers there, at least for most of it.  Karli had to leave shortly after doing her dance, but at least she made it through her dance.

They all looked so cute in their costumes, and they did a great job!  Karli doesn't want to dance again, but the other girls do.  It was a fight to get Karli to dance class every single week, but I'm such a mean mom, that I made her go because I had already paid for her lessons and the costume.  Kate is already counting down to when she gets to dance again.  It's crazy how different each kid can be.

Halle didn't get to dance on the stage this year, but she will next year.  She improved a lot this year, so it was fun to see her progress in class.

Fun Weekend

This last weekend we went to a family fun center.  We weren't sure what to expect because we had never been there before, but it ended up being a lot of fun.  Jarren and Maya loved the rock wall.  Maya pretty much flew up to the top of the wall, she's really strong.  Jarren is more afraid of heights like his mom, and so it took a few more tries, but he did make it to the top.

I think I'm getting old because there was a ride there that didn't look too scary.  It went up a little and then dropped you back down.  I mean, even little tiny kids could ride this ride.  But as soon as it started to go up, I knew I was in trouble, it sure seemed higher than it looked from the ground.  Luckily for me, Halle didn't like it either.

There were Go Carts, which ended up being really fun.  The line was long, and so after 30 minutes of waiting it was finally our turn.  However, as we were ready to get on, the worker there informed us that Jarren and Maya were too small to drive alone.  That's a problem when Jason is with Halle and Brock and so it's just me and 4 kids.  Luckily 2 teenage girls got in line right then and offered to take Jarren and Maya; it worked out good for both of us, because my kids got to ride and these girls got out of a half hour wait in line.

Looking at this picture, Karli really looks like me.

We told Jarren we could go again soon because we didn't have time to do laser tag, and he was pretty disappointed.

Bee's Game

Jason and I took Jarren and Maya and 2 of their friends to a Bee's game a few weeks ago.  It was so much fun!  Jason was able to tickets for a suite through his work and so there was even free food.  Extra Bonus! :)  There weren't very many people at the game, and so we were actually able to get a picture with The Bee.

Yearly Easter Egg Hunt

Our Easter celebrations wouldn't be the same without the Easter egg hunt we do at my brother, Tyler's house.  My kids all look forward to it.  We weren't sure if there would be one this year, since they just had a baby a month before, but they decided they would do it anyway.  Yeah!  We did miss my sister, Jessica, since she was on her honeymoon.

Jessica's Wedding

My favorite (and only sister) got married last Thursday.  She looked beautiful, it was so fun to celebrate with her and Jeremy.  We now have 2 Uncle Jeremy's.  We left our house at 8am to be at the Salt Lake temple by 8:30.  Jason's mom was great to watch all the kids for us at her work while we were in the temple.  While we were gone they had fun helping set up the room for the wedding luncheon.

It was then time for pictures.  After pictures we had some time before the luncheon, so me and the girls and Brock went to see the Conference Center and Jason and Jarren went to check on things at the office.  While we were at the Conference Center, Kate all of a sudden didn't feel well. :(  So, we left and went to find Jason.  Luckily Jason's mom was kind enough to let Kate lay down in her office while we went to the luncheon downstairs.

After the luncheon we went home and let Kate rest, thankfully she was feeling better by the time it was time to leave for the reception.  Kate had hit her head and got a goose egg while we were waiting for Jessica to come out of the temple, so I think that is what made her sick.

The reception center was absolutely beautiful.  It was a nursery/greenhouse and all of the plants made it look really nice.  The kids all had so much fun exploring the different plants and cactuses, and Jason loved the palm tree.  For the food they had Cold Stone cater ice cream.  I haven't had ice cream in about 5 months because Brock is lactose intolerant, so I decided tonight was the perfect time to see how he tolerates milk.  Oh my goodness, it was DELICIOUS!  I have missed dairy products.

 Brock loved playing/eating my necklace.

 Karli loving Brock!

Halle didn't want to be a part of the pictures.  At least she was close enough to still be in the pictures.

All the nieces- Maya, Jillian (Jeremy's niece), Kate, Karli, Halle and Kenadee

Dancing!  Maya wouldn't dance with Jason because she was too embarrassed, but Karli thought it was great!

It was a long, fun day!  And great memories were made!
